Welcome Home!

You finally closed on your new home and now there are a thousand things to do to get settled. Termite protection and pest control are probably near the top of your list.

The good news is, you've got a head start. You purchased a quality home from one of the area's finest homebuilders and he made sure it was pretreated for termites by the area's best pest control company – Clark's.

  • Since we treated your home for termites when it was originally built, the warranty may still in the builder's name. We need your information for our records in order to transfer coverage into your name. In the Clark's folder that you received at closing you will find the forms you need. If you cannot locate your forms, you can fill out our contact form, give us a call or e-mail us at

  • A termite pretreatment during the construction phase of your home is a necessity, but it's just the first step. To protect your home investment long term, you need an ongoing regimen to keep termites at bay, which includes annual inspections and retreatments, as needed. Just select the level of termite protection that's right for you and we'll take care of the rest.

  • As you work your way down your to-do list, you'll probably find other things Clark's will come in handy for. Besides termite protection, we provide ongoing pest control solutions, lawn care, fire ant control, mold and moisture removal and construction services.

Important Facts About Termites

The Dangerous Difference Between Termites and Ants

Termites and ants both reproduce by what is commonly referred to as swarmers. The difference between the two may be slight , therefore correct identification is of the utmost importance. Ants have a slender or pinched waist, elbowed antennae and unlike termites, the ant has two pair of wings of unequal length.

Subterranean termites, the most damaging kind, can affect any kind of structure. Whether the structure is built on slab or a crawl space, termites can find a way in to the structure. Every year, termite damage approaches a billion dollars nationwide. Having a professional termite treatment from Clark's Termite & Pest Control can significantly reduce your risk of becoming a statistic.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if I think I have termites or other wood destroying organisms?

If you think you have termites you can refer to the front of your homeowners book to help you identify your pest. If you think you have other problems that need identification, please contact our office to set an appointment and one of our qualified inspectors will be glad to come out.

What should I do if I sell my home?

Your Real Estate Agent or your lender will require that you get an Official South Carolina Wood Infestation Report( a.k.a. "Termite Letter, Clearance Letter"). Clark's Termite & Pest Control will gladly issue this report for an additional charge. Is my termite bond transferable to the new homeowner?

Yes it is. Please note if you select the Blue Plan, you may only transfer the bond for the remainder of the term before a Booster Treatment will be required. Once the new homeowners have settled in, we will be sending them a letter to notify them of the bond transfer process. That way, your initial investment will continue to pay off in the future.

Cathy Abrams

March 3, 1955 - September 28, 2015

It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of our friend and Clark's family member Cathy Abrams. Cathy joined us in 2000 as our bookkeeper and for over 13 years helped lay the foundation for the success we now enjoy.

Cathy courageously battled various forms of cancer for a good part of nine years. She turned her misfortune into a tool to help others in similar circumstances. While in her own fight, she volunteered at the local cancer center and befriended many others, helping them to find the physical and spiritual strength to deal with this horrible disease. In the end, Cathy did her part to leave this world a better place for others, and we will miss her tremendously.
